How do I turn on Java?
Certain parts of the Avacaster system rely on the common web browser plug in called Java. Java can be downloaded for free here: http://www.java.com/en/download/
After downloading and installing Java, your browser should be set to use it automatically. However, in some circumstances you may need to change your browser settings to use it.
To check or change your settings, open Internet Explorer and go to Tools -> Options. Click on the Advanced tab. Scroll down until you get to the section regarding Java. Make sure the "Use JRE [version #] for <applet> checkbox is checked. Changing this setting requires you to reboot your computer to make the change.
(See attachment: JavaAppletSupport.png below).
You may also need to check Java itself to see that it is set to work with Internet Explorer. Go to: C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06 in (your version # may be different) and launch javacpl.exe. Click on the Advanced tab, and click the plus symbol beside <APPLET> tag support, and make sure the Internet Explorer checkbox is checked.
